Second helping of Scraplings anyone?

Hi again

As I ended off saying yesterday I was off to make some Halloween scraplings and here they are.

The first is a baggy to hand out for treats or to classmates.

 

  

The second is just a fum scrapling to add to a treat or have a straw stick out of.

 

Above is a close up to show the sanding and the hand drawn spiders web and spider.

Scraplings Anyone?

I LOVE (did I say LOVE) these little guys, so versatile. The first couple I did as mini cards/tags but later got inspired to turn the "card" upside down and turn it into a mini gift "baggy".

Here goes:

My two conventional scraplings:

 

and now for the baggy, I stapled a clear cello baggy with two sweets onto the back panel and secured the baggy shut with a mini bulldog clip. These could be given to visitors over the Christmas period with a suitable tag of thanks or as class gifts for the kids at school.

While I was typing this I thought to myself-------you are so silly why didn't you think about turning it into a treat for Halloween----OK so I'm off now to do just that. Will be back later with the treats.

Treat holder- Cup style?

Hi, hope you are all having a fantastic day.

This is another treat holder/container I made using Dustin Pikes Halloween bear (I just love this pumpkin bear). This time I enlarged the bear, he is 7" tall and made a box to go behind him. I wanted to made a traditional handle but was inspired to make it cup style when I came to adhere the handle- what do you think? The box is 5" tall and 1.5" X 1.5" all around. I even thought trick or treaters could get thir sweets/treats poured into their containers from this cup or should I call it a pseudo jug!?!?

Trick/Treat Pumpkin Box

Hi

This week I have been working on Halloween projects and after seeing this card here by Suzanne Dean I just felt inspired to turn a pumpkin into a trick or treat container, for a little trick or treater to carry around. The pumpkin is cut using an oval Coluzzels template and is made from Bazzil cardstock.

 

I used the second to largest oval on my Coluzzles' oval template for the two outer layers and the third to largest for the center of the pumpkin. I distressed the edges with orange ink and used my copic YR07 to further highlight the edges. I free cut the stem. The image is a freebie from Dustin Pike which I colored using my copics.

 

I just measured up my completed pumpkin and cut a box with a handle to fit behind it. Below is a side view shoing how I glued the finished pumpkin to the box.

Angel Bear

Welcome : - )

I found this old PSX stamp and was just inspired to use it on a non traditional colored Christmas card. I also saw that over at the Papertake Weekly Challenge that the challenge is to use fairies or angels so I thought I may as well link it there as well as well as at the The Secret Crafter Saturday Challenge Blog - Flights of Fancy Challenge.

I used vintage lace and colored the angel in with my Copics, the DP is 7 Gypsies.

It's all about me...Challenge! {post 2 for today}

Another challange over at SCS Limited supplies had me inspired as well. I don't know if this kind of "gift" gift card has already been done (???), but I thought that this presentation of a gift card would be fun.

I made a gift card holder and then added a "lid" and belly band to make it look like a present.

This is what the "gift" looks like with the belly band removed:

 

And here is a photo with the gift card holder open and one taken from the side.

I used Technique Tuesday Cling Stamps to stamp the flourish pattern on the cardstock using brown Stazon ink, brown twill ribbon and paper roses.

Vintage thank you

This is my card for the Ways to use it challenge on SCS for this week. The challnege was to make a vintage card using any epherema we had laying about.

I decided to use some old ribbon and lace bought at a thrift store many years ago (still in my bear making days). As I did not have any old tickets etc, I decided to use a 7 Gypsies tag. I inked all the edges with dark brown ink to give the card an old world feel and added the burnt orange flower to add a touch of color.

 

                                        

This was the first time I have used my sewing machine on a card and I loved it.
