Hokey Pokey

Welcome

The challenge over at Project Tuesday this week is to create a box using this tutorial.

I was inspired by Nigella Lawson and decided to use her Hockey Pockey Recipe found here. I was watching one of her shows where she makes this to take to a dinner party as a gift for the hostess. I decided to make a box to put them in, but have not yet decided on the sentiment- hence no tag- ANY IDEAS??

See the Hokey Pokey aka Honeycomb through the window and are yummmmmy :-) especially if you have a sweet tooth like me. I used a bee rubber stamp to create the background paper on the scalloped circle and colored the bees in using my copic markers. The DP is an old one from BasicGrey that I have had in my stash for ages.

And this is what happened as soon as I told my kids I was finished taking the photo's (after much begging....).

Teachers' are the garderners.....

Hi All

I so loved making the Survival kits that I took another poem from, here and made this set also for Laurens' My Timeless Template challenge. I used the Bun in the oven template and doubled it up.

This gift houses two flower pots already potted up with miniature daisy seeds. All the teacher has to do is  remove the pots and place them on her windowsill in her classroom to grow and blossom.

I then thought that the pots home - the  "garden" box would go to waste so I gave her two extra empty pots to place stationery in so she could keep her "garden" box on her desk.

I embellished the top of the two boxes with the poem and made the top flap look like a garden to go with the poem. I took two dragonfly beads and threaded them onto a wire which I inserted into the back flap. The stems of the "flowers" where drawn using a copic marker.

I also added a little something to the bottom of the two joined bun in the oven boxes, a little fancy stand.
I love using these templates, they are just the best. :-)

Survival Kits

Hi All

I was so excited when I saw Lauren Meaders' My Timeless Template challenge. Being a student teacher I was surfing looking for teaching ideas and strategies when I came across these poems found here. So it was good luck that I happened upon the poem and Lauren chose this theme at the same time. When I saw these survival kit poems, I knew what I wanted to do. I used Laurens' Lets do Lunch template, they are so fun and easy to use :-).

First up is the Teacher Survival Kit, as per the poem I placed all the relevant goodies with their individual tags in the box.

The first photo shows all the labeled goodies

before they go into the box .

Next is the Student Survival kit based on the same idea but it has different goodies to go inside.

Lastly photos of the boxes side by side. TFL Paola

Mad about Ariel?

My DH cousins daughter is turning 3 and her Mom asked if I could help out with some party goodies. This is what I came up with. The little party favor houses a bracelet, and the small Ariel album for photos of the party go into the altered box. The fabric bags were made following instructions on Nicole Heady's Blog and can be found here (scroll down some).

Beary Special Gift Box- Stamptacular Challenge

I am new to stamping so am trying to get my mojo going by searching the challenge blogs. I loooove bears so when I came across the Stamptacular Sunday Challenge Blog I knew I had to give it a go. I thought I must get an early start on Christmas packaging as I am writing my final exams through the month of November so I know I won't have time to prepare for the Christmas rush then. The image is a digital image from Dustin Pike . The image below is the box with its lid off.

Card Patterns Sketch 28

Finally my camera has come back from the repair shop- YIPEE :-). So I can take photos and begin joining in on the sketch's/challenges.

I just loved this weeks sketch on the Card Patterns Blog so this is my take on this weeks sketch. This card also doubles up as my take on the OCC Christmas in August challenge as well. I used digi images from CC Designs and DP from Basic Grey's Wassail line.
